THE SALES MASTER – daniel w. jacobs

The Romance of Salesmanship – an introduction

Have you ever had that feeling?

A feeling of intense excitement and anticipation of potential adventure, achievement, fortune, or love? where you’re consumed by thoughts of what might be, and your imagination runs wild? when your mind, body, emotions and sensations are at the outer limits of a desire so intense it is palpable with aliveness?

This is the life of the professional salesperson. This is the sustenance that keeps them going. That feeling of being totally alive and in the moment, doing something that they love and being good at it.

Like anyone else at the top of his or her game, they love the challenge, the risk, the reward, and the stimulation from doing something no one else could do.

This is what it’s all about for the top professionals in any field: The knowledge of a job well done; the admiration of their peers; the silent acknowledgment to themselves of their demonstration of competence under pressure.

To the salesman or woman this is . . .  the romance of salesmanship.
